Default Thinking about the '08 Altima 2.5SL

Hi all! I'v recently rented the '08 Altima 2.5s and quickly became a huge fan of the car. I'm currently browsing around dealerships in my area and was curious what others who have purchased this model paid for it. Its always better to have some numbers in mind when trying to make a deal so was just looking for some feedback.

Thank you!

Thanks for the reply. I've grabbed a couple quote from other people on a couple different forums and a number of them are below invoice on the vehicles. The SL is in the "want" where I live so its tough to really get anyone to bargain too much with you because of the demand. Sticker price for the car I'm looking at is $25,780. I would like to get them down to $23,780 including tax, tags, and title but I'm not sure how feasible this is.

Yesterday I got a quote for an SL of $22,476. That was after the $1250 rebate and the "dealer discount". I think that you can still negotiate with them and knock out a few hundred bucks. The 2009's will be coming out in September I think. That's what the dealer told me.

interesting. Thank you. I'm in talks with two dealers now and one is telling me they can't do anything below invoice because of the demand of the car in the area. The other dealer won't even budge from the MSRP which is obviously not an option for me. I can negotiate a $30k car from another brand down to $25k, it wouldn't make sense to get the Altima for MSRP for me.

Just to follow up on the subject. I am now the proud owner of a 2008 Altima 2.5SL in Dark Slate.

The final price? $20,154.

Thanks for the help provided guys!

Nice. Congratulations. Was it tough to negotiate with them?

I actually did an online quote and they came back with $20,654 right off!!! I nearly dropped one in my chair haha. Then I negotiated down to $20,154. Doesn't sound like much but you guys can try negotiating another $500 off of $3k below invoice...

Thank you btw. I love the car!! Can barely find the words to explain the excitement!

What're you sporting now? I was driving a 2002 Subaru WRX with 104,000 miles. That's where I got the hose end of the deal. Because the car is over 100k a bank won't finance the car. Since a bank can't finance the car they can't sell it on floor so it goes to wholesale and off to an auction. Wholesale will only by the car for the Galves value which for my car was $3,500. Made out well but it could have been just a LITTLE bit better haha.

I've got an '07 Scion tC with just 13k miles on it. I'm trying to avoid trading it in because I know they're gonna rip me off.

I would definitely look into selling it on your own. Assuming you owe money on the car?

They offered to take my car off of my agreement (cause of the crappy price) but at the point where I was with the car, money invested, etc. I was just happy to get rid of the thing.

I actually have the car paid off. If I sell it on my own I think I can get close to 16 grand for it vs. trading it in. If I trade it I'll be lucky to get 13g's.

Buy the new Altima, then sell your TC. It'll work out fine. Don't TRADE. It's a rip off.
