Default Torque Increase?

So i've been wanting up to up my torque, and i went ahead and got the unorthodox pulley installed on my car, along with some badly needed brand new tires... so needless to say i have noticed quite the extra zip

butttttt... is there ANYTHING else i can do to increase it even more? ive been looking and looking and i swear i cant find anything else.. i see things like the blockplate which gives good HP gains but low end rpms suffer.. which is not what i want.

so any ideas??

A great bang for your buck is to install a catless y-pipe. You can pick-up one up from racingline performance or stillen. It is shown to increase HP and TQ across the rev range.

You could go for a CAI or cat back exhaust, but gains are inconsistent.

*edit* The link for stillen is for my 03, you will have to pick your make and model.

very interesting..

and from what i've researched the install looks rather easy for the racingline y pipe? im trying to figure out a way to get my car up high enough to work under it.. id hate to bring it in to a mechanic to install and be charged an arm and a leg when its just a bolt on..

is there anything i can do thats very cheap to lift enough? i see all these ez lifts and such but so damn expensive that theres no point in getting them..

The install is easy IF you have the right tools. You will need to heat those bolts up red hot to get them off. A few have gotten away with penetrating fluid and given the year of your car you might get away with that. If you were to take it to an exhaust shop i'm sure it wouldn't be too expensive. Under $100 I bet.

You can buy a good set of ramps that will get it up high enough, or by a cheap floor jack and stands (I spent $40 on sale at the parts store). The best part is you can keep using them and save $60 at the shop. I used a MAP gas torch to heat my cat bolts (about $20 to buy w/can of MAP gas).
The y-pipe is good from all reports, just ground clearance issues if lowered a lot. You might try a tuner set-up, like Bullydog for a bit more power too.

From all reports, the emission test is not a problem because you have the pre-cats still. Make sure the car is warmed up before testing and it should be fine. There are no sensors on the main cat either. Go for it!

+1

Have a look at your last e-test. You will likely see that the numbers are WELL below what is tolerated. You shouldn't have any problems.
