Default Trade 06 Si for 06 Se-R...Opinion?

Looking to trade my 06 Si coupe(rallye red) w/68k miles for an 06 Se-R(code red) w/65k miles and manual tranny. Both cars have similar mileage and both are in excellent condition. Both have basic bolt-on peformance parts. This would be an even trade with a guy I know from my school, cuz he wants a coupe and for better gas mlleage.

Would this be a good trade? I like the Se-R models and don't mind having a bigger car. He wants to put a supercharger on the Si and etc...

I want to know the opinions of the Altima owners on here. Are the Se-R reliable compare to Si? Anything that I should look for? Might do it next week...let me know.

I wouldn't be so quick to trade even. The civic is a stand up car, even though it's not as quick. Maybe trade for the weekend and see what you think. Make sure you can deal with the interior quality difference.

At this time...I'm at 80% on my decision leaning towards doing the trade. Will do some test drive this week. The Se-R owner has already driven the Si model before and wants it for a few reasons. Should be able to make a final decision by this weekend. Do appreciate the opinions...thanks.

That's what I was going to suggest. As far as reliability, I'd easily lean towards the Civic, but that's not saying the Nissan is an unreliable car at all. It's just Honda's heritage. As far as performance, I'm a Nissan fan. The SER is more fun to drive and the torque difference between the two isn't a fair comparison.

After it's all been said and done, I ended up getting an 04 Evo 8. I just happen to find it for a great price and bought it from a private owner. The car dyno 352 whp and seems to be a reliable dd car. I have posted my Si up for sale as well.

Good decision. If the evo 8 or 9 was available in Canada I would be seriously tempted.

se-rs are way better way faster and look way more attractive and better, and more reliable then the civic si.

You're limited on Evo options up there?

Yup. The Evo X was the only one offered for Canadian consumption. I have seen one evo 9 at a car show in TO. I'm not sure how he was able to import it because apparently the Canadian gov't does not like the position of the intercooler. The fact that there are none in Canada is what makes me want one. It's the same story with the new GTO. They were never offered for the Canadian market but there have been a couple that were imported. I just heard that one of my coworkers landlord is importing one in the next few weeks. I'm quite jealous.
