The engine light is off and has not returned. The buzzing noise I was getting seems to have been the solenoid.
We decided to use Mercon synthetic as opposed to Matic D simply because of the price. If we were going to be dropping the pan a few times the price was going to add up quick. My dad's shop carries Mercon in bulk, so the price was really good. Now when the car has sat in the cold for more then 12 hours it really takes it's time engaging first. We're talking 5 or more seconds. With my next oil change we'll change the fluid back to matic d for good. Hopefully that solves the delay.

I'm positive the P0745 was due to the solenoid. The solenoid sits on the VB and is the same solenoid that was in my old transmission because we did the VB upgrade prior to the swap. We rewired the drop resistor at the same time the new tranny went in, so the new pump has only seen the proper resistor values. So current setup is old valve body with Transgo update, new pressure solenoid from Nissan (covered under tranny warranty), new (used) 4spd tranny with transgo accumulator update and OE drop resistor.

I'm excited to drive my car again in the morning. I seem to have gotten all of my torque back that I guess I had lost through my old torque converter. Couple that with the Transgo constantly putting you in the powerband quickly as opposed to the long, lingering shifts of the old 4spd...yup, I'm pretty happy...finally.

We took him and his wife (my mom died 6 years ago) out for dinner on Saturday. It's a small repayment for all the work he did.

The car shifts beautifully. Nice and quick shifts. I really pushed the car yesterday and from 1st to second it will bark the tires. Pretty fun. The transmission pump in this transmission is a little noisy. As long as it doesn't get worse I'll live with it.

The saga continues...In a couple weeks we are going to put the valve body that we kept from the used tranny into the car to see if it fixes the no go when cold symptom and see if the upgraded valve body is putting too much stress on the tranny pump. If it does not help then we're going to see about warranty on this transmission. I'm hoping the issue I'm having is not caused by the transgo upgraded vavle body but I have this sinking feeling I'll be removing it for good. For the next two weeks I'm going to enjoy the quick shifts because I'm not sure if I'll exprience them again. Fingers crossed and I'll keep you updated.

I'm really hoping it's not the valve body. The way it shifts when it warms up is just unbelievable.

you should take a video of the rpm for me to see if it's a visible difference in the shifts. i'll keep my fingers crossed for you though. that would really suck if it was the valve body

maybe you should do something about that massive stock resonator then. although i do like quiet cruising speeds. still get to hear the vq speak though
