I see you traced the gasket to make the plate. Simple, but affective. Do you ever convert your warm air back to cold air?

Looks like a very neat job!
I was thinking about pulling the stock plate, cutting off the inside frame, removing the butterfly linkage and threading a bolt into the hole in the middle to seal it. Low cost either way! Its on the to-do list, after I get my SE-R RSB installed.

Good idea. Most guys don't have the patience for that and just order the $40 piece. I drive an 03, which means my butterfly is removeable. Just remember that once you cut the frame there is no going back.

Awe, come on... once you have more power you never go back! You're a junkie like the rest of us. LOL

The vias is a butterfly valve that stays closed in the lower rpms to build torque and opens in the higher rpms to allow full air flow through the intake. The Altima from 02-06 had one large butterfly valve that sits on the right side of the intake, (left side if you're looking at the motor). By installing the vias block plate, or in my case removing the valve you can increase the airflow through the higher rpm's resulting in an increase in power up top. In the lower rpm's, power will suffer a little.
