Default Which Optima Battery to get for 05 Altima?

Has anyone put an Optima battery in their Altima? It was 12 degrees this morning and the car wouldn't start. I jumped it off and it was fine so I assume it was the battery. I have an Optima red top battery in my 99 Maxima and it's been great. When I went by Advanced Auto Parts to pick one up for my wife's 05 Altima they told me I had to get the $216 D35 yellow top battery. That's a bit more than I want to spend. Has anyone put in the $160 range red top batteries?

Thanks!

(first post here, be gentle)

First, Welcome to AF! Second, Don't pay for a yellow top when you don't need one.

A redtop will do you just fine in cold weather (cranking amps). Yellow Tops are more for Car Audio and heavy electronic use.

Thanks. I ended up getting the red top 35 for $131 shipped from Amazon.com. Much cheaper!

Exactly.

You did the right thing. I had a Red Top in one of my cars for a little over seven years. Battery didn't die after that, I scrapped the car. Curious to see how much further it would have went, lol.

Incidentally, I think you're on the other side of Knoxville from Advance Auto's primary warehouse. Took 'em two days to get stuff here in Central PA from down there, but I bet you can get next day or same day out of there.
