Exclamation Wierd RPM's at low speed

Hi everyone,

This weekend, I had to change my CrankShaft Position Sensor because of 2 DTC: P0335 & P0725. The MIL is gone and the car starts fine. But now I notice something strange. At high speeds (over 40-50 mph), the car drives fine, no lack of power, RPM's normal. As soon as I go under 40mph (city driving), the RPM starts to didle up and down. The slightest push on the accelerator causes the RPM's to shoot up about 500-600 rpm and when I let off the gas, RPM's drop to under 1000 and then bounces back up to about 1200-1300 RPM's. There's no sudden surge of power and it doesn't seem to down shift, but the RPM's are very irratic. When driving on the highway, the RPM's read about 2300-2400 RPM's when going about 115 kms/hr(about 70mph), which is how it was before. But city driving, the RPM's run at about 1600-1700, which is about 200-300 RPM's more than what it was before when driving at about 30-35mph at constant speed. By the way, there is no MIL on, that's why I'm baffled.

Can anybody help!!!!

I got it reprogrammed back in January. Would I have to get it reprogrammed again after changing the sensor? Sounds wierd to have to do this again.

i had the same problem with my 02 2.5 S 5 speed. i took it to the dealer and it had something to do with an air filter not being cleaned- they fixed it and its fine now. bring it to a dealer
