Has anyone had trouble with the radio trim cracking? I have a 2011 Nissan Altima that I purchased new from a local dealer. Over the winter, I assume during the frigid temps, the trim above the radio began cracking and now there is a piece just hanging there and another line forming to the left. We did nothing to cause this, so I took the car back to the dealership and my 36K warranty had just expired so that would not cover it unless the radio stopped working (since the trim is part of the radio.) The dealership said it world cost $3,000 to replace and they would cover half! Yeah, right, what a deal! I was wondering if this problem is very common with Nissan. Thanks for listening!!!

Never seen it either and what would cause it?
Maybe too tight a fit from the factory that created a stress point that finally gave? Maybe a fluke?

$3000 is a dealership ass rape. Get after market top of the line head unit with subs and amps with that kinda cash.
