My battery light goes on and off every week or so. My battery also died about 4 months after leasing the car brand new. Anybody having similar issues? And any tips? I recently changed the light settings so the headlights turn off automatically instead of staying on for 45 seconds after Turning off the car.

Of course the dealer says everything is fine they recharged the battery and recently did a test and everything came back good.

Sounds like the internal regulator in your alternator is failing. They often go in-and-out for awhile before the silicon fails completely. You should get a pic of the lit lamp, also showing the tach needle to indicate the engine is running. That should give the dealer no choice but to take it seriously.

This same situation happened with my older Altima - every few weeks the battery light would come on and then disappear. Long story, but after several batteries and THREE alternators were installed (!!!), Nissan finally determined it was a faulty electrical connection that was disrupting the charging of the battery. Over $1000 (Cdn) to fix the problem. That was 6 months ago and no issues since, BUT I don't feel safe driving my Altima anymore :(

Update: So ever since I changed the light settings to turn off automatically when I shut my car off instead of the default of staying on 45 seconds I haven’t had my battery light come on. It’s been 21 days.
