I have a 2019 Altima SR that I thought was having brake issues. They were periodically squealing and making somewhat of a grinding noise. I replaced the pads and rotors, but still have the same noise. It seems the noise comes and I goes. If I'm driving mostly highway I don't notice the noise. If I drive backroads and hilly roads, the noise appears. I hear the noise while driving without braking and still hear it while braking. Anyone have any idea what this could be? Am I looking at the wrong thing...could it be something other than the brakes?

If you hear it without hitting the brakes, a wheel bearing or a CV axle would be good guesses.

hey, thanks for the reply! I didn’t think about the wheel bearing since it does it intermittently. I’ll have to get an appt and get it checked out. Thank you!
