My driver's side brake light is doing some funny stuff. I was told it was out so I changed the bulb. Simple, right? Wrong. Now it blinks (as it should) when the key FOB is used to lock/unlock the doors. However, it will not illuminate when the brake pedal is depressed. The passenger side and third brake lights both function properly. All other exterior lights function properly.

I've checked EVERY fuse in all three locations. The wires do not appear to be loose or cut or anything. I am trying to find my multimeter (recently moved) so that I can take some readings.

Where could the problem be? My inspection will be due soon and surely will fail.
