In videos they say transmission fluid should be pumped into the overflow valve / opening
Can I just fill it into dipstick port (after changing filter)??

Refilling by way of the tube is fine. The only big no-no is, never overfill. Measure what you remove (I recommend making a tape mark on a clear bucket) and replace exactly the amount you drained. It should be done cold. If you've had a leak and don't know what the right level should be, then you'll need a more complicated procedure using the "leveling" or "overflow" plug located on the front of the case.
