Not knowing there was going to be a problem with my car, out of nowhere my car wont crank or start. I get in the car to leave and nothing happens, this is the second time. After trying everything i could think of. Had ro settle on the only to start my car was from the starter. Now this part my be important ? the metal piece was using fell out my hand and was contacting the starter to where it turned a glowing hot red. After i got the metal removed, it wouldnt start again. After checking all fuses which were good, found the fuses on positive battery cable were blown. after replacing those , the car still wouldnt start. Following the advice on tic toc, I end up getting a new starter, a bcm and ecm from the same car,and a under the hood fuse box, replced brake sensor, still no start. I cant even get anything when i apply direct power to location for the starter relay. I believe it may be a loose ground ? When i try to start it, i hear a clicking sound coming from the side of the engine, closets to the air filter. all the fuses are good, Could i have fried something that prevents power getting to the starter? Does anyone have an idea as to what is happening ?

The clicking you're hearing is probably the Starter Relay, but some exact info on your ride would be helpful. If you don't have a test lamp, get one, it's pretty much the only tool you need for diagnosing starter issues.

First, put the gator on ground at the negative battery post (not the terminal, the post) and probe the big terminal at the starter. You should get a bright light, if it's dim or out then there's a problem with the positive cable, positive terminal, or the 250A fusible link in the battery card. Next probe the small terminal and have someone try to start it. You should get a bright light, if it's dim or out then no signal is getting to the solenoid coil from the starter relay. Then repeat the first test but with the gator on the engine block. If that's dim or out then your negative cable or connections have a problem. Post back on the results and I'll help further if you still need it.

i was looking into the part when you were talking about the brake lights , i checked the brake sensor and i discovered that my brake lights didnt my brake lights didnt work due to that a wire was fried and broken, i fixed the wire and now the brake lights work, i ran my obd2 reader on it, i have a bunch of codes, but i think the one that keeps it from starting is b2191? i could probably correct the problem if i had thr old bcm? so do i need the key to be read by the bcm/ecm ?
