I'm getting an 03 3.5 Altima soon and was wondering if anyone knew of a skyline, silvia or 300zx engine that would fit in the bay and connect fairly easy. I love the v6 in it already but it feels sluggish and I need some raw power! I was looking and saw jdm sells import japanese engines and tranny's for cheap (around $900) but I know I would have to switch from front to rear wheel drive for those, not hard just labor intensive but I need solutions, if anyone has any ideas and maybe a little instruction on how to do this or what engine trans powertrain combo I need please let me know! Thank you.
if you want an RB or SR20 you would be better off with a 240 or a 300zx. those swaps been done plenty of times so the info is out there and parts are made.
those engines in an altima have never been done so you probably would be the first. but there is someone converting to RWD with a titan V8. just google it and you might be able to find something informative
Labor intensive and expensive. That's why there's only one conversion in the works. I think you're better off just getting something like a G sedan or M...
This, big time... either get a 4cyl from a 2.5s Alti and turbo it, or buy a 350z or G35... to convert an Altima to RWD/AWD is not easy, or cheap. Hence why there's only 1 person known to be doing it, and you can look him up, it's a BIG project.
