So i have a 06 se 3.5 and i wanted to know if there was any way i could run my fogs without my headlights being on. I plan on getting 3k HIDs for the fogs and 8Ks for the heads and i wanna run the gots by themselves during the day....OH and how do i install the HID kit, thanx.

There's a post somewhere around here with a write up on how to do the fog mod. I've done it...It's really simple. Run 2 wires from your stalk to a relay under the hood. A bit more detailed than that, but that's it in a nutshell. As far as installing your HIDs, the ballast and bulbs should be all plug-n-play, but you'll need to drill a 21-22mm hole in your dust cap to fit the wires through for the bulb harness. But with 8000K bulbs, I think you're going to run into some issues of rice filling your engine bay. Unless you're a Vikings fan, I'd stay away from that combo.

I just bought 8k bulbs for my new-to-me 2011 Altima. I liked them cause i have had them installed on a previous car for years now (fogs and Low beams). What is the problems with them? (Not so quick on the draw with the rice joke) lol

It's like this:

3 German vehicles...And from left to right, it goes kraut, kraut and rice.

I think the left is around 4300K, center is 6000k and right is riceK.

Lol, thanks. Totally didn't make that connection. Ill run the 8k till they burn out, then get the 6k. Any tips on an easy install? Where did you guys mount the ballasts?

if you dont mind dropping the bumper (not as hard as it sounds just a little time consuming) there are OEM ballast mounts under the headlight assembly you can use *might have to use double sided tape and or zip ties because the bracket might not line up with the after market holes..if there are any. I intend on doing that when I get my new HID kit from DDM (my super cheap kit didnt last very long)

I didnt know about the oem mounts when i first installed my kit so I double sided taped and zip tied them to the washer fluid bottle and on the driver side a gray box mirrored like the washer bottle its some sort of intake damper or something.

ill take pics of where the oem mounts are when I get my new kit in.

I'm just giving you crap. We all have to do what we like because nobody else is paying for our cars. My opinion doesn't matter if you like what you've done, and that's the important part.
