Lamps are fine. Seen a video on you tube, where altima won't accelerate over 25mph sometimes. Doing exactly what they showed. All the tests and all. First replaced 2nd " white" brake switch. Worked good for a week. Then replaced relay, and fixed it. Somewhere after switch, but never found where.

OK, thanks. I will replace both switches. Hopefully that will work. Also seen it could be transmission needing flushed and filter replaced. But video, showed exactly what mine was is doing.
Again thank you. My daughter uses this car mostly to get to school. So safety is highest priority.

When evaluating the lamps, keep in mind that it isn't a matter of whether they turn on correctly, but whether they turn off correctly. The TCM monitors the lamps and won't let the car accelerate if the lamps are lit. So the acid test is a glance back at the high brake lamp when the car misbehaves. If the lamp is lit then that's your problem, if not then the problem lies elsewhere.

2008 2.5, won't accelerate over 25mph, sometimes. Seen where same problem was caused by brake relay. Where do I find it. Dangerous when car won't accelerate as fast as needed.
Thank you
When is the last time you had the transmission serviced?

If the fluid has turned into varnish from not being serviced, then the transmission control module will retard the transmission, causing you to not be able to accelerate.

Happened to me!

If your 2008 2.5 car is experiencing a problem where it won't accelerate over 25mph, it could be caused by a faulty brake relay. To locate the brake relay, you should consult your car's owner manual, which should have a diagram of the car's various components and their locations.
Alternatively, you could also consult with a certified mechanic or take your car to a dealership for inspection and repair. It's important to address this issue promptly, as it can be dangerous when your car won't accelerate as quickly as needed in certain driving situations.
Ignoring the issue could lead to accidents, so it's important to get it fixed as soon as possible. Once the brake relay is identified as the problem, it can be replaced by a professional, and your car should resume normal operation.
All the best

It can also be the brake light switch located at the top of the brake pedal arm under the dash.
